Jared Emerson-Johnson

I make music for video games.

Hi there. I'm Jared Emerson-Johnson. For the past decade or so I've been the music man at Bay Area Sound—writing music, creating sound design, directing voiceover and acting in all sorts of games and occasionally in other media.

You may know me from my scores to the Sam & Max series from Telltale Games, or perhaps you have found yourself here because of my more recent work on The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Tales From the Borderlands, and/or Game of Thrones (also from Telltale).

Regardless of what brought you here, welcome! I hope I can provide you with whatever you're looking for.

“Thanks to some effective subtle music cues and solid voice work, you’ll find yourself quickly caring about these types of decisions.“ - AtomicMPC on The Walking Dead: The Game "The music is appropriate but not overpowering. String instruments groan ominously to build tension or shriek loudly in times of peril – just what you’d expect from the genre.“ - ScrewAttack on The Walking Dead: The Game “The game's soundtrack sets a very dark tone which is appropriate for the story...it really makes you feel the losses suffered in this experience. Even as a standalone soundtrack, it will evoke the same feelings in you, months after completing it...All in all, it's fitting that such a groundbreaking game has such an evocative soundtrack, composed by Jared Emerson-Johnson. “ - Continue Play on The Walking Dead: The Game “The music is subtle and haunting, with the appropriate horror film stingers to keep the blood pumping. “ - RipTen on The Walking Dead: The Game “Jared Emerson-Johnson's score, which perfectly accompanies the on-screen action and heightens every single moment, also deserves special mention.“ - Alternative Magazine Online on The Walking Dead: The Game “The game’s music, which is one of the undercover MVP’s found within this game…doesn’t beat you over the head like the score of a Heavy Rain or Halo type game, it’s super effective when it needs to be, and helps really drive home the emotional impact of some of the game’s greatest moments. “ - Geek Binge on The Walking Dead: The Game
