The Sound Architect Interview
I had a fantastic time chatting with Sam Hughes at The Sound Architect in this new interview:
I make music for video games.
Hi there. I'm Jared Emerson-Johnson. For the past decade or so I've been the music man at Bay Area Sound—writing music, creating sound design, directing voiceover and acting in all sorts of games and occasionally in other media.
You may know me from my scores to the Sam & Max series from Telltale Games, or perhaps you have found yourself here because of my more recent work on The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Tales From the Borderlands, and/or Game of Thrones (also from Telltale).
Regardless of what brought you here, welcome! I hope I can provide you with whatever you're looking for.
I had a fantastic time chatting with Sam Hughes at The Sound Architect in this new interview:
I just finished putting together a bit "Making Of" writeup about the Tales from the Borderlands main menu suite that we recorded with a live orchestra for the finale of the game.
You may find and read it here!
Wow, well it's been nearly ten months since I posted any new music on the site, but today that ends! I just put up a few more tracks from my score to Telltale's first series of Batman games. These are all from episode 4, "Guardian of Gotham."
I promise it won't be quite so long before I post some more music for you all to enjoy; thanks for rolling with the hiatus!
Last week, Sep Gohardani at Gamumentary posted an interview we did a few weeks back. It's long, but it answers a lot of your burning questions (maybe).
Check it out—especially if you're interested in getting into game audio!
Hey everybody! I just put up a few more tracks from my score to Telltale's Batman game. These are all from episode 3, "New World Order."
Enjoy!
I just posted some new tracks from "Children of Arkham," the second installment of Telltale Games' Batman series to the Batman project page.
Boy it has been quite awhile without any updates—apologies for that. I've been quite busy with various projects (not the least of which being the birth of my son), so I haven't had much idle time to update the site.
That said, I have finally just updated the Batman page with a few sample tracks from the first episode of the game. Check them out! Hope you're enjoying the game and its score. I'll be posting music from the subsequent episodes in the upcoming months.
Last week Graham Annable posted a hilarious, disturbing new Grickle cartoon with some music by yours truly:
Hey Everybody, I just put some tracks from the final episode of the Michonne miniseries up on the game's project page. Give it a listen, and relive each nail-biting, heartbreaking moment!
Wow it's been awhile since I've updated the site. Apologies for that. I've been quite busy in the past months juggling various fun projects.
Anyway, I just put up a few tracks from the second episode of Telltale's Walking Dead Michonne miniseries. Check them out!
